what's good at trader joe's?

I've never been there (they didn't have a location in Buffalo), but since moving to NC, I was excited to learn that there's a Trader Joe's just an hour away! I'm planning on venturing out there one of these days, but I wanted to know if it's worth all the hype?

So I need your help! What do I need to cart home with me? Or should I not waste my time?

  3. I'm in California right now visiting my mom and I can't wait to check out Trader Joe's. I'm going to stock up on things because we don't have any in Canada. If I find anything interesting, I'll let you know.

  4. I think it's a cool store, but not a place I do my regular shopping because it doesn't have everything. However, what it does have is good! They do have a lot of frozen pre-prepared stuff, which can be good, but if you like to eat fresher things, not so much. I think the cheese selection is awesome, and I love their tortilla chips. I find their prices to be normal to cheaper than a regular grocery. Also, if they have it, you MUST get Cookie Butter!-

  7. omg everything! all of the prepared things (pizzas, enchiladas, rice bowls) are delish! and there are so many good sweet things: the 100 calorie choc bars and the pumpkin pancake mix are so good! mm...

  8. I just love Trader Joe's! Here are a few of my favorites: butternut squash soup (comes in a carton), their chicken salad, their vanilla yogurt with almond chips, from the frozen section their mushroom ravioli, orange chicken, sweet potato gnoochi, and veggie burgers (add salsa to 'em). Also love their apple breakfast bars (like a nutri grain bar only better), and they also make this flatbread thing in the frozen section with ham and carmelized onions. It's awesome!

    Hope this helps you!

  9. ooh my gosh, I could go on and on. I agree with Jenny who said you can't really do it for all your shopping, but you can do a lot. They have a great selection of premade salads and wraps - the chicken pesto wrap is super good. We also get their champagne vinegrette, chocolate and seasalt covered almonds, frozen veggie gyoza dumplings. Their frozen french onion soup is pretty decent for a quick french onion fix.

  10. Oh, TJs--as I call it. Fortunately, the three different places that I have lived have ALL had one--crazy, right? They're all a little different though--& many times they have seasonal things as well. I feel like every time I go, I end up with something new & different. They're prices are not bad for the quality stuff they have also. I know know that people go gah-gah over "Three Buck Chuck" which is actually $3 Charles Shaw wine that is good. :) :)
Enjoy! I can't wait to hear about it!

    Just mango dried mango strips
    Dates (super cheap here!)
almond meal (cheaper than almond flour)
    Olive Oil
$2 chuck, or Le Grotte Lambrusco Dell'Emilia Bianco (a cheap sparkling white)
    Plantain chips
    curry simmer sauce
    frozen microwaveable rice
    hearts of palm
    mint creams

that's all I can think of at the moment ;)

  14. I loveeeee TJ's (as I call it!) and here's what I get there: pizza dough and cheese for homemade pizza! Peanut butter filled pretzels, hummus, in the frozen section: orange chicken, whole wheat waffles, frozen chocolate bananas, and lots of their pastas! I don't recommend their produce though- definitely get that elsewhere, as it's not as fresh and it's more expensive! Enjoy!! :)

  20. OMG, this photo made me smile--reminds me of how my bf goes gaga in there. :)

Anyways, I am trying to click your contact link and for some reason it directs me right back to your page. I happen to stumble to habibi's blog and found the blog really beautiful, so i checked who made it and it led me to you. I'm wondering if you still do blog templates?

    Hugs,

  21. I love Trader Joe's. We have one about 10 minutes from us and I shop there almost weekly. There dry roasted unsalted almonds are the BEST. Love their produce...and you can get a lot of it (organic) without breaking the bank. We buy Joe's O's cereal there (like Cheerios) for my toddler. Olive Oil, soups, pasta, ummm...what else? Bar soap for the shower - I think it's almond something...Oh, and how could I forget dark chocolate?!

Oh, and BASIL! haha...sorry...I keep thinking of things. There is lots more. Plus they have a beautiful selection of fresh cut and potted flowers.

    I hope you like it!
