Homesick // The 1 year itch

We've been in NC for a little over a year now, and can I tell you something? We HATE IT! There I finally said it. I'm sure the whole state isn't that bad, but we hate the area we live in! There are a lot of reasons why we don't like it (that would just be a long and depressing post) and we can't wait to move back home... or maybe even to Florida.

When I saw this video on my friend Kristen's blog and I just had to share. I've been so homesick and watching this came at a perfect time. Actually watching it made me more sad/homesick, but so happy and proud and I will always call Buffalo my home. I'll always be a Buffalo (NY) girl at heart. If you have a few minutes, check out the video. You can see why I love it so much.

We've tried to make the best of it, but we're ready to hightail it out of here. We just have to get through another year (at least) and then we can move on to our next adventure.

So what about you? Do you live in city that you love?
If you haven't moved but want to, where would go?

  1. My sister and her family live in Buffalo and they really seem to love it too :) It's a unique place, that's for sure!

    1. Glad to hear they like it too! It catches a bad wrap most of the time, but it's a hidden gem! It really has so much potential!

  2. What a well done video! Definitely spins a new light on Buffalo for me... I love all the architecture they highlighted. I've driver through Buffalo a few times, but never really spent a couple of days there - but I'd like to explore now! ...ever cross over the Canadian border??

    1. Yes, I've been over to Canada a few times! Been to Toronto once (like 5-6 years ago, that's such a fun city too!) and the Niagara Falls area a few times. There are lots more to do on that side, it's actually better than the American side!

  3. OH NO!

I'm currently an hour away from my hometown and I miss that area every day. Too many highways and crackerjack houses around me right now. I miss fresh air and community.

    1. One of the main reasons I hate it is the crime/drugs. I know that stuff is everywhere, I just don't like living so close to it...

  4. Boo. I know the feeling!

The area where I live is super congested. Going to Target is an hour long ordeal even if you know what you want and quickly find it going in. I grew up on 11 acres and that was a little too country for me.. I'd like to find a happy medium!

  5. I live in Toronto and I am happy with where I live but my husband definitely wants to move. We were thinking Portland or Vancouver. It would be nice to make the move but I just started a new job.

It's tough to live in a city you don't like :(
